If you are trying to reach and effective scar reduction, then you should try laser therapy. There are several different types of lasers that can help treat different skin problems, as a matter of fact, there is a type of laser for every type of scar.

For example, hypertrophic and keloid scars are often treated using pulsed dye lasers. If the PDL is to be used to treat scars located on sensitive areas (i.e., lips, fingers, etc), the doctor may suggest the use of intraregional anaesthesia.

Generally, side effects include redness and rashes. These problems will usually clear up in a short period of time. If after a couple of months the problem hasn’t cleared up, call your doctor.

If you want to treat your hypertrophic scars effectively, then you may need to undergo 2 or 4 sessions. However, if you’re trying to treat keloid scars, you may need to undergo more than 4 sessions.

Stretch marks can be treated with lower energy PDLs. You shouldn’t have to undergo more than 1 or 2 treatments before seeing positive results nor should you experience too many unwanted side effects.

Unfortunately, atrophic scars need to be treated with a more intense scar treatment such as ablative lasers, because non ablative lasers don’t work well with these types of scars.

The only real problem with this type of treatment is that ablative lasers are more damaging than their non-ablative counterparts; however, the proper medical supervision should keep this damage to a minimum.

Treatment Options: Chemical Peels, Dermabrasion & Scar Creams

Chemicals peels have been used for ages to help remove skin imperfections such as blemishes and scars. This type of treatment gets its name because it uses different chemicals to remove different layers of the skin. For example, a light chemical peel may remove the epidermis while a deeper peel removes the epidermis as well as part of the dermis.

These treatments usually require up to two weeks of recovery time. The skin will crust over, scab, and once the scab has been removed, the smoother and younger looking skin hidden underneath will finally show through.

Dermabrasion uses an abrasive wand or micro-crystals to “sand-off” the epidermis. This procedure can lead to noticeable scar removal and scar reduction. Dermabrasion also requires anaesthesia, painkillers and wound care.

Scar creams are different than the previous procedures as they not only promote scar removal cream, but also promote scar healing. Therefore, it can be used on closed wounds to keep scar tissue from forming. Scar creams the contain natural ingredients such as rose hip oil or snail serum can be just as effective as laser therapy and other resurfacing techniques.

BIOSKINREPAIR is a natural product that can help you remove all types of scars. It is made with a very special natural ingredient – snail serum – that can help promote both keloid scar removal and hypertrophic scar removal. What’s great is that this natural product is gentle enough to be used on all skin types without having to worry about unwanted side effects.
